Bibleitda Terms of Service
These are the terms of use that apply to the Bibleitda app.
These Terms of Service set out the conditions and procedures for using the smartphone application “Bibleitda (말씀잇다)” (the “Service”) provided by NEWER (뉴어) (the “Company”), and the rights and obligations of the Company and users.
1. Effect of the Terms
- These Terms take effect when posted on the Service screen or the website, and the service agreement is formed when a user agrees to them at sign-up.
- For use of the iOS app, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies together with these Terms. If the two differ, these Terms prevail as between the user and the Company.
- Matters not set out in these Terms are governed by applicable laws and the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
2. Sign-up and Accounts
- You can sign up with a Kakao, Google, Naver, or Apple account.
- Your account may be used only by you and may not be transferred, lent, or shared with others. You are responsible for any damage caused by poor management of your account.
- Persons under the age of 14 may not sign up as members. The Company may restrict or terminate any account confirmed to belong to a person under 14.
- You may delete your account at any time from the app’s settings screen. When you delete your account, the paid service rights granted to the account and the records you created are extinguished and cannot be restored. Any active subscription must be cancelled separately in the App Store or Google Play, regardless of account deletion.
3. Paid Services and Subscriptions
- In addition to free services, the Company offers Bible translations, Bible audio passes, features, and subscription products (the “Paid Services”).
- Paid Services are paid for through the App Store or Google Play, and payment, billing, and cancellation follow the policies and procedures of the relevant store. Prices are shown on the purchase screen and may vary by country and store.
- Rights to use Paid Services are granted to the account that made the purchase. Unless a separate period is specified, one-time products may be used for as long as the Service is provided.
- Subscriptions automatically renew and are charged monthly unless you cancel. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, the next period will be charged.
- If you cancel a subscription, you will not be charged from the next billing date, and you may continue to use it until the end of the period already paid for. Cancellation is made in the account settings of the relevant store.
- While subscribed, you can use all Paid Services. When the subscription ends, you can use only the one-time products you purchased separately.
- Only one subscription can be active at a time. A change to the higher subscription (AI 300) takes effect immediately, and a change to the lower subscription (AI 50) takes effect from the next renewal date after the current period ends.
- If a subscription price is increased, the Company and the store will give advance notice and, where required, obtain the user’s consent in accordance with applicable laws and store policies.
4. Gifts
- You may purchase Paid Services and give them as gifts to other members. Once payment is confirmed, the usage rights are granted immediately to the recipient’s account.
- A gift is deemed delivered when the usage rights are granted to the recipient, and it cannot be redirected to another member even if the recipient was designated in error.
- If the payment for a gift is refunded or cancelled by the store, the recipient’s corresponding usage rights are also revoked.
5. Withdrawal of Subscription (Cancellation) and Refunds
- Because Paid Services are digital content, withdrawal of an order is restricted in the following cases under Article 17(2) of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. (전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률). The Company provides some content free of charge before purchase so that you can review it in advance.
- When provision of the content has begun (such as viewing the text of a Bible translation, playing or downloading Bible audio, or using an AI feature)
- When 7 days have passed since the payment date
- When the product was provided free of charge, such as by an administrator grant or an event
- Gifts for which the usage rights have been granted to the recipient
- The portion of a subscription period that has already begun
- When the service was used by fraudulent means, such as repeated purchases and refunds, sharing or transferring an account, or misuse of a payment method
- All refunds are processed by the store where payment was made (Apple or Google) in accordance with that store’s refund policy and procedures. You must request a refund directly from the relevant store, and the Company provides guidance on refund inquiries through its customer center (customer@newer.co.kr).
- In the event of a payment error or duplicate payment, the Company will verify the facts and guide you through the store’s refund procedure.
- Once a refund or chargeback is confirmed, the usage rights to the relevant Paid Service are revoked immediately.
- If a minor makes a payment without the consent of a legal guardian, the minor or the legal guardian may cancel it. However, it cannot be cancelled if the minor used deception to make others believe that they were an adult or had the legal guardian’s consent, or if the payment was made within the scope of property the legal guardian permitted the minor to dispose of.
6. AI Features
- The Service’s AI question and Bible explanation features generate answers using generative artificial intelligence.
- AI answers are for reference only, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and do not replace the official interpretation of any denomination or pastoral counseling. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy of AI answers and is not responsible for the results of using them.
- The number of uses and scope of AI features may be limited depending on the product you are using.
7. Posts
- The rights and responsibilities for posts that users write in notes, groups, the community, and similar areas belong to the author.
- You permit the Company to use your posts free of charge (including reproduction, transmission, and editing) to the extent necessary to operate, display, and promote the Service. Private notes are not used for promotion.
- The Company does not tolerate inappropriate posts, such as obscene, violent, hateful, harassing, or illegal content, or content that infringes the rights of others. Such posts may be deleted or made private without prior notice regardless of whether they have been reported, and the author’s use of the Service may be restricted.
- You can report inappropriate posts or users in the app, and the Company will review reports and take action.
8. Prohibited Conduct and Restrictions on Use
Users must not engage in the following conduct.
- Infringing the rights of others, such as copyrights, portrait rights, reputation, or personal information
- Violating laws, public order, or good morals
- Causing harm to other users or third parties
- Interfering with the operation of the Service or damaging the reputation of the Company or the Service
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the software or content of the Service, or reproducing or distributing it without authorization
- Accessing the Company’s network or servers (the “Target Equipment”) without authorization, or modifying or deleting stored information without authorization
- Transmitting malicious programs or placing excessive load on the Target Equipment
- Using the Service or AI features through automated means
- Any other conduct equivalent to the above
If a user engages in prohibited conduct, the Company may issue a warning, suspend the account temporarily or permanently, or terminate the agreement. In such cases, Paid Services already paid for will not be refunded, and the Company may claim compensation for any damage it suffers.
9. Changes, Suspension, and Termination of the Service
- The Company may change the content of the Service as necessary for operational or technical reasons, and will announce significant changes within the Service.
- The Company may temporarily suspend the Service due to equipment maintenance, failures, communication outages, natural disasters, or similar reasons.
- If the Company terminates the Service, it will announce this within the Service at least 30 days before termination. Paid Services will be handled in accordance with applicable laws and store policies.
10. Limitation of Liability
- Unless there is intent or gross negligence on the part of the Company, the Company is not liable for damage incurred by users in connection with the use of the Service.
- The Company is not liable for damage caused by reasons beyond its control, such as natural disasters, failures of carriers, stores, or external services, or reasons attributable to the user.
- The Company is not liable for services provided free of charge, posts written by users, or disputes between users or between a user and a third party.
- If a user violates these Terms or the law and causes damage to the Company, the user must compensate the Company for that damage.
11. Protection of Personal Information
The Company processes users’ personal information in accordance with applicable laws and its Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to the Terms
- The Company may change these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws.
- When the Terms are changed, the Company will announce the change within the Service starting 7 days before the effective date. Changes unfavorable to users will be announced starting 30 days before the effective date and notified individually, such as through app notifications.
- If a user does not express objection by the effective date and continues to use the Service, the user is deemed to have agreed to the changed Terms. Users who do not agree may delete their account.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes relating to the use of the Service will be resolved in the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of Korea (민사소송법).
Addendum
These Terms take effect on October 1, 2026.
