More in the setup guide
What is terminal-itda?

A mobile companion for Claude Code and Codex running on your computer. Connect the PC program to the phone app, then check conversations and send instructions from your phone. Your computer does the work.

Does my computer need to stay on?

Yes. The PC must stay powered and connected, with terminal-itda running. Pro Keep Awake lets a configured MacBook stay awake with its lid closed, including on battery power. Other laptops depend on system support; see the Keep Awake setup guide.

Can I connect away from home?

Yes. The app uses your local network when available and the relay when you are away. The standard connection does not require port forwarding or a VPN. Tailscale-based SSH is a separate, optional setup.

Do I need herdr, Orca or cmux?

No. If you use one, terminal-itda can connect to its agents. Without a workspace tool, you can start work in a terminal-itda session. Claude Code or Codex still needs to be installed and signed in on the computer.

How is this different from official remote features?

Claude Code and Codex each offer official remote experiences. terminal-itda focuses on bringing both tools, multiple computers and supported workspaces such as herdr, Orca and cmux into one phone app. Choose the workflow that fits your setup.

What is free? Are AI subscriptions included?

The free plan connects one computer. Pro adds multiple computers and Keep Awake for supported systems. Claude Code and Codex subscriptions or API charges are separate; terminal-itda does not provide an AI plan.
